Schöckl Warmup 2023 is a disc golf tournament on Austrian Schöckl mountain near Graz, Styria organized by Discgolfclub Graz (DGCG).

This AmateurAustroTour event is a 1-day PDGA C-tier tournament played over 2 rounds with a shotgun start on Thursday the 18th of May 2023 (which is a public holiday: Ascension Day)The target group are players with no or a PDGA rating of <850, who are not (likely) getting a spot in the AustorTour event. However, all players are welcome - including players of the Schöckl Open 2023, who want to play two competitive rounds as warmup.

We offer following divisions:

  • Gold (PDGA rating of >=970)
  • Blue (PDGA Rating of <970)
  • White (PDGA Rating of <935)
  • Red (PDGA Rating of <900)
  • Green (PDGA Rating of <850; this includes players with no PDGA rating)

As we play the standard pro layout this course is available for practice any time.

Note on player numbers:
If there are less than 3 participants in a division we will merge this division.
The Maximum number of participants is 72. Therefore the maximum flight size is 4 players.
Wildcards will be distributed by discretion of the TDs.

Layout

Alpine Terrain (1400m sea level) is waiting for you.
The course layout is the standard, permanent pro-layout with a Par 59 and 1921m (it is not the same layout as played during the AustroTour event Schöckl Open 2023 - however some holes are identical).

There are following minor changes to the standard pro layout:

  • Hole 16: There is an additional mandatory to protect the hut on the right end of the hole.
  • Hole 18: The pond is OB and all OB throws proceed to the drop zone (=amateur tee). You can take causual relief near the pond. See teesign for details.

Cable car

The last cable car ride every day is at 17:00. On Thursday the last ride for us will be 18:00!
For players, we rides are sponsored by HOLDING Graz on Thursday!

Refund policy

We will refund the tournament fees if:

  • we are not allowed/able to hold this event.
  • you cancel your participation at least 1 week before the event.

Please, note that in case of a refund, the refund processing fee of about 2 € will be deducted from the refund amount. 

 

Meals and drinks

Various soups are offered at Alpengasthof. Please inform us during registration if you would like to order a soup and please pay on site.

Side events

Ace Pot (1 € - already included in the registration fee)

If you hit an ace, you will earn the pot. In case of two or more aces, the pot will be splitted.

 

COVID-19

Current Austrian COVID-19 laws do not demand any vaccinated, cured or tested certificates to participate in events.

However, please take preventive measures as you see fit (see PDGA Covid Guidelines).

For participants traveling from abroad to Austria:

  • FFP2 masks are still required in doctor's offices, hospitals, pharmacys and therelike (refer to signs at the entrance). If you do not have a FFP2 mask you get them at any supermarket.

 

Other general rules

  • Main scoring tool is Disc Golf Metrix. Additionally, one player in each group should score with UDisc so you are able to double check scores at the end of the round or if scoring in Metrix is not possible.
    If requested, a paper scoring card will be handed out (see rule update by PDGA in 2022).

 

Accommodation

We have organized following accommodations on top of Schöckl mountain:

Alpengasthof (11-bed group accommodation incl. bed linen)

Camping (beside Alpengasthof; shower facility; breakfast possible at Alpengasthof). Camping itself will be free. Shower will be charged with 5 EUR.
