Thanks for your interest in the MDGC Summer Social Series. (Dec - Jan)
The events for the Summer Social Series are really just glorified casual rounds but we willl use them to test out some things we may use in the 2023 season. At this event we are going to trial three things.
1) Special tees for new players with little experiance and no Metrix rating. These will be on the longer holes and will be designed so that new players can generally finish with no more than 2 over par. This will help with the speed of play for the whole comp and also provide more realistic scores for generating a player's initial handicap. The special tees will be marked with flags.
2) Divisions. Players will be placed in divisions according to their Metrix rating.
3) Electronic hole prize registry. This has been working very well already. The links to the registry form is below. Please save it to your phone somewhere for use on the day. It will almost certainly be used for the 2023 social days.
These events are designed to be about fun and getting together rather than competition and prizes (there are no guarantees for prizes). We are hoping to attract a lot of our new members to this one so that they can meet others from the club in a very relaxed atmosphere.
There are two tee times available for this event. They are 9:30 and 12:00 with a short players meeting 20 minutes prior to each tee time. Plaese arrive 30 minutes early.
When registering you will be given the choice to choose your division and time. If you are not sure about your rating and therefore the division that you should choose then please select what you think is correct and we will change your division if required.
We will hve the club shop there on the day. It's a great chance to get some new plastic in your bag to start the 2023 season.
