Schöckl Open 2024 [PDGA C-tier]
This 2-day-tournament is part of the Austro-Tour and takes place on May 4/5, 2024.
The Discgolfclub Graz (DGCG) is looking forward to a great discgolf weekend.
Announcement, before going into details:
We are super happy to be able to offer you an additional disc golf day, mainly for amateur players with no or a PDGA rating of <900, who are not (likely) getting a spot in the main Austro-Tour event. The Schöckl Open 2024 Warmup (PDGA C-tier) takes place 3 days before on Wednesday May 1, 2024 (public holiday in Austria). However, all players are welcome - including players of the main tournament, who want to play two competitive rounds as warmup.
Registration for the Warmup tournament starts parallel to the AustroTour event.
Course
Alpine Terrain (1400m sea level) is waiting for you, according to this some meters of altitude are to overcome.
The course layout offers different shots to be mastered and asks for many aspects in our sport.
Solid footwear due to the inclines and weatherproof clothing are strongly recommended.
Layout
The main layout (Par 63 2289m) is planned for all three rounds is as follows:
Additionally, we also have prepared an alterative layout in case of foggy weather conditions (Par 61 2028m). This layout will only be played if announced by the TDs before each round! Do not decide by your self, which layout applies.
Changes in the fog layout are:
- Hole 4: OB on the left hand side of the fairway is not in play. At least 2 persons must spot on this hole!
- Hole 5: OB on the left hand side of the fairway is not in play. At least 2 persons must spot on this hole!
- Hole 6: Is played from a short tee on the bottom of the hill (Par 3!)
- Hole 10: Is played from the amateur tee on the plateau (Par 3!)
- Hole 12b: Is an additional hole played between Hole 12 and 13.
- Hole 13: Is played with the short target on the first plateau (standard layout)
- Hole 18: This hole will not be played in the fog.

- Perfect/Good/Save weather forecast --> 1 round golf start planned.
Starting time 1st flight: 9:30; All following flights in 10 minutes intervals; Final flight planned around 13:00.
- Uncertain weather forecast --> most likely 1 round cannon start, starting time planned at 10:00
Award ceremony shortly after the last group has finishes (at the hut next to the inn "Alpengasthof")
The attempt to promote togetherness again :-)
We would like to offer participants from different divisions more of a shared experience again. We plan to play mixed (2 rounds) on Saturday, the 1st round completely mixed, the 2nd round according to the scores.
On Sunday, the divisions are played separately.
Especially Masters players (MP40) should feel addressed, among other things, not to "escape" into the open division. And we believe that ladies and juniors will appreciate this just as much.

On Friday, the last cable car ride is at 17:00 !
On Saturday and Sunday, the last cable car ride is at 18:00 !
For players, ALL rides are sponsored by HOLDING Graz, valid from Friday to Sunday !
A list of names is available at the ticket office / bottom station. Simply announce your name, and you get your ticket.
Keep the ticket well, it is needed for the downhill ride and for the parking lot exit.
