Women’s Social Days – You asked for it, it’s happening - #2
Following on from feedback we have received from players, we are making changes to the last two events for the Women's Social Day Series (WSD) 1, those being:
- Bald Hill - Sunday June 12 &
- Ruffey Lake - Saturday June 18
Both events will now be played at 10:15 - 10:30am and will be 18 holes.
The WSD rounds will be held within the Mixed Social Day Round, with numbers capped at 12 players and women will be grouped together. (We can accommodate more players if this happens.)
Why are we making these changes?
- Feedback from players saying they wanted to play earlier and they wanted to play 18 holes.
- Winter weather conditions.
- As a trial for the second series of women's events, which will commence in July (more news of that to come soon).
- Ruffey Lake is the course which will be used for the upcoming Women's Global Event (WGE) + Melbourne Celebrates event on 6 & 7 August 2022, and holding the June 18 event over 18 holes will give women players a chance to play and experience the full course.
- Note - the course for the WGE + Celebration event will be somewhat changed to accommodate all levels of play and players.
- We hope you take the opportunity to play the WGE and join the worldwide community of women players.
A short combined players meeting will take place at 10:15am with tee off at 10:30am.
In previous events we have organised coaching / training prior to the players meeting - we would appreciate your feedback as to whether you would like us to keep this going.
Events will be free to MDGC members and $5.00 for anyone who would like to play casually. If it is the first event you have played with MDGC it is free.
To join the club or renew your membership please click here. Non-Member casual fees can be paid here.
All participants must be members of Australian Disc Golf for insurance purposes. It is free to join here.
The competition is open to all ages but minors must be accompanied but an adult. We have loaner disc sets for anyone who does not have their own discs.
Just a reminder too - we have had some players take the extra step and assist with the events - thank you! If you would like to know more about these opportunities, if you are interested in being involved, but can’t make any of the events, or you would like more information, please send an email to women@melbournediscgolf.com and we will try to accommodate your requests.
Thanks to you all for your support in making this series the success it has been - tell your friends!!
